Family counselling is for families whose relationships and/or communication with each other have become strained, distant or violent. The goal of family counselling is to explore the strengths, perspectives and unique challenges within each family unit and then use this knowledge in building a more harmonious home or relational environment. How will we meet? I am open to discovering what works best for each family. In some cases, the entire family will be present for all or most of the counselling sessions. At other times, there will be individual sessions with parents or children, or perhaps one or more dyad sessions with both parents/guardians, the child/parent, child/step-parent, etc. All family members will be collectively involved in the process of deciding how our sessions will proceed.
